You can now contact ICE Clinic on our mobile 07483 443727. We can take calls, texts and WhatsApps on this number for both Clinics – Ampthill and Olney.
Due to the government lifting some of the COVID-19 restrictions in our sector we are now able to make face-to face appointments with our patients.
ICE Clinic Olney will re-open its doors on Wednesday 1st July for Physiotherapy and Chiropody appointments.
For everyone’s safety there are quite rightly a number of changes to our normal practice procedures which we are required to strictly adhere to. For example we will be wearing full PPE and you will be required to bring a mask to wear throughout your appointment, we will take your temperature on arrival and you will also need to wait in the car park until your appointment.
If you feel you need a face-to face appointment please start by calling the Olney clinic on 01234 240117 or the ICE Clinic mobile on 07483 443727 and we will take you through the necessary steps and give you more detail about what changes to expect to ensure your safety and ours.
As soon as we have more information about our other services resuming we will share these with you.
We hope you have remained safe and well during this difficult period and continue to do so as we move forwards together.
After successfully opening ICE Ampthill up for face-to-face physiotherapy appointments this week we are now able to offer 2 additional services:

Both will be subject to a number of screening procedures as per our physiotherapy appointments – but don’t worry this will all be explained to you when you book your appointment – 01525 841845

As your appointment is healthcare-related it is not deemed to be unnecessary social contact. If however you have been advised to self-isolate or are displaying any symptoms related to COVID-19 please contact the clinic and we will reschedule your appointment. Teja Parbhoo, our Women’s and Men’s Health Physiotherapist is now qualified in delivering the Mummy MOT.
What is the Mummy MOT?
The Mummy MOT is a postnatal detailed physiotherapy assessment of the abdominal and pelvic area.
It will check your:
Tummy gap – Also known as Rectus Abdominis
This is when your abdominal muscles naturally relax and separate throughout pregnancy to allow your baby and in turn your tummy to grow. This is perfectly normal, but what is important is checking these muscles return back into place in the weeks after giving birth– a third of all mums have a tummy gap, 8 weeks after birth and we generally check to make sure the gap isn’t bigger than 2 fingers.
If your tummy gap doesn’t correct itself you’re at greater risk of developing problems such as back pain, prolapse and urinary incontinence; it can sometimes affect breathing, bowel movements and cause other abdominal problems. So, it’s best to get the problem picked up and sorted as early as possible.
Pelvic floor strength
The pelvic floor is a complex group of muscle that forms a bowl shape in the base of the pelvis. These muscles are fundamental in supporting the bladder, bowel and womb. If the pelvic floor muscles are not working properly this can result in a number of symptoms, for example leaking, urgency and vaginal prolapse. The pelvic floor undergoes significant change during pregnancy and delivery and can cause dysfunction in up to 1 in 3 women.
Posture
Breathing
You will receive a report of the findings and an appropriate safe exercise programme will be prescribed.
The Mummy MOT identifies muscle imbalances through the assessment and the restorative exercise programme corrects them, regaining stability and allowing optimal function.
